A Time To Celebrate!

Hello, my favorite Suffragettes and Suffragents!


Let me just start this blog post by saying GOOD FOR YOU! April 28, 2012 was a success! This was the real beginning to making ourselves seen as well as heard, and I congratulate you all on your determination, strength, dignity and class!


Women from all across the United States united and raised their voices, posters and feet to march and rally to fight the War On Women. I wish I had been there...I tweeted my heart out yesterday, occasionally being kicked off Twitter. I have no idea if the women and men that showed up to the rallies had any abusers or hostile commentators (please leave a message if you did and how you and others around you dealt with it!), but on Twitter, let me tell you, the Trolls were out in full force. Surprising, since they had done everything they could previously to state the the War on Women was either a farce, fake or engineered by the Democrats. We've got them scared.

The hatred and venom, though, from some of the Troll tweets I witnessed made me feel a little sick. I saw some that stated that women like "us" deserved to be abused, deserved to be raped. That we deserved to be locked away and forced to have babies. Some got even worse than that, threatening people's lives. Others were more tame, simply stating that we were liars, idiots, useless, and much more.

BUT...They did NOT stop those of us online..if anything, we pushed back, we blocked, we reported, we ignored. Some of us (not me..I love the block button, lol) even argued with them, tried to reason with them. I felt so inspired by those around me in the Twitter Universe. The boosts people were giving to each other, the amazing interactions, the feeling of unity.


I have some pictures from the events, but I need more. I am putting together a slideshow for the blog to show everyone just how amazing you all are! I'd also need permission to use them, and if you prefer anonymity, I have a wonderful program that blurs faces.

This is just a short note today, but tomorrow will bring more!

So, my friends, this is ONLY THE BEGINNING. We shall prevail, We WILL win against this War On Women. I have faith in us... Thank you for letting me even a small part of this journey.

What comes after this? So much more...stay tuned, as I just know there's more work for us around the corner!
