CONGRATULATIONS #OBAMA!!

Democracy has won. Obama has been Re-Elected! TRUE Patriotism has shone through the ugliness of this entire campaign!

I am so VERY proud of my American friends! You have made your voices heard LOUD AND CLEAR. By raising your voices and voting, you have let it be known that you will no longer tolerate hate, fear, bigotry, election-buying, lies and extremism. I could go on, but you know what I mean :)

I will have a longer article out later today or tomorrow, but I just wanted to congratulate you ALL. Your hard work has paid off! Through all the adversity, lies, dirty money, hate, and so much more, you showed everyone what AMERICA is really made of!

This Canadian SALUTES YOU!

As the #Election Grows Nearer

So.

Friends, the time is near. The "Make It Or Break It" Witching hour. November 6th. 2012.

What do I mean by this? I mean that on November 6th, America will decide if they want to go FORWARD, or if they want to remain ignorant. (If you haven't figured it out by now, I lean towards the left).

I started a series about Election Fraud, and I will continue to research that. However, there are so many issues at hand with this particular Election, that it's very hard for everyone to remain focused. So I hope you will forgive me if it seems like I'm all over the place on here!

For example; On Twitter, the Trolls have upped their activity. You know this means we've got them scared. On Facebook, I see more and more crazy Political Pages pop up. You see more Trolls there too. There's more articles from both sides of this, and there's more ACTIVISM.

This is just a short note to let readers know that while I'm working on new blog posts, I'm also making sure that people know they have to get out there and VOTE! Don't get mad, just vote. Vote as if your life depends on it. - Because for some, it actually does.

Don't let anyone intimidate you at the Polls. If they do, this is a CRIMINAL OFFENSE. I've made note of the number to contact on Twitter, should it happen to you. If you can't see it on my newsfeed, please feel free to comment below and I'll provide it again :)

VOTE VOTE VOTE!!!

Apologies for the short post, but I promise I'm finally getting back into the swing of things.

I look forward to celebrating with you all as you VOTE!!!

Best Regards,

An Ordinary Woman.

#ElectionFraud. Part One

Hello all,

Today we're going to discuss Election Fraud, Voter Fraud, Voter Tampering and Intimidation. I've been working on this particular post for the past few weeks, as it seems that every time I get close to finishing it, something else pops up that needs to be included. Let's hope I can finish it today.

Let's start with the most relevant, and work our way back, shall we?

Okay. Buckle up, this is going to be quite the ride. Let's start with Link number one.
http://truth-out.org/news/item/12130-will-hig-owned-e-voting-machines-give-romney-the-white-house

Basically, this one has to do with Ohio. More specifically, Hamilton County - which many are stating will be the "Deciding Factor" for the Presidential Election. Ohio has a history with Election Fraud. It's been linked to Kenneth Blackwell, who not only administered the election, but also served as co-chair of the Bush/Cheney Re-Election Committee. Also connected? Michael Connell, IT Specialist with longtime ties to the Bush Family. In 2004, Connell was awarded the Contract to count the votes for Ohio...which was performed on computers that also contained Karl Rove's Email AND the National Republican Party's as well. Ironically, Connell died in a plane crash shortly after being Subpoenaed in a lawsuit directly regarding the election.

Link number two:
http://truth-out.org/news/item/12213-americas-media-just-made-vote-rigging-easier
This one talks more about Election Integrity. - I know...that's like an oxymoron. But this actually refers to democracy activists such as: Black Box VotingElection Defense Alliance, and Occupy Rigged Elections. I'll let you read more about them, but not to worry; I'll be bringing them up in a later post. Now. Have you ever heard of "The Red Shift" ? Probably not, unless you're pretty involved in the Political Spectrum. I only heard of it a couple of years ago, myself. To give you the best idea of what this is, I'm going to directly quote from this article:
"Election forensics has turned up some very serious discrepancies in elections spanning the past few decades, and even led to the coining of a new term: The Red Shift.
The Red Shift has been detected in both state and federal American elections, where computerized vote totals have consistently "shifted" - often by a 5 percent to 7 percent margin disparity (sometimes less, but sometimes much greater) - in comparison to hand-counts and polling data. This mysterious seismic lurch invariably pushes votes to the right, and when the dust settles, it has inordinately benefitted GOP candidates and ballot issues.
To conceal these unnerving discrepancies that strongly suggest computerized vote rigging, exit pollsters began "adjusting" their final reported numbers - literally forcing polls at the end of Election Day to better align with the voting machine results."
Scary stuff. On to the next:

Link Three:
By far one of the best articles out there in regards to this whole fiasco. Well researched and documented information. I encourage you to read this one. It basically lines out the details for you. It talks about H.I.G. Capital (A Private Equity Firm) and Hart Intercivic ( A Provider of Election Voting Systems). It's interesting to note just how many people from H.I.G. were either former employees of Bain, or had very strong ties to Bain or Romney - or Both. And almost Every. Single. One. has donated to Romney's campaigns. The plot thickens.

Link Four:
This link goes over the H.I.G. connection again, and goes on to talk about Scytl - a Spanish-Based company that is contracted to count approximately 25% of the Presidential vote. Why is this company important? Because although this company claims to have offices located across the U.S., there is absolutely no proof whatsoever that this company does. All that's been found is a "Ghost Location" - otherwise known as a virtual office. And, once again, this particular company has ties to Booz Allen Hamilton, who has ties to the Bush Family. Booz Allen made voting machines for the military.

Does anyone else see the connection? I'm sure I'm not the only one. If you follow the Yellow Brick Road, it leads you right back to the Republican Party. Bain. Mitt Romney. The Bush Family.

Link Five:
This one describes the article for Harpers Magazine written by Victoria Collier. This article came out at a point where some of us were investigating Voter Fraud, and had thought that this topic had already been exhausted for this period. How wrong we all were. I highly suggest you read this. The entire thing. It's 9 pages long, but worth it.

I'll be going into detail about this article tomorrow, but I wanted everyone to have a chance to read it first, digest it, and form your own opinions. So, tomorrow we will be dissecting it. Piece by piece, to get an idea of what is really going on.

So, until tomorrow, here are some discussion questions. I'd LOVE to hear your thoughts:

1. What do you think is going on in regards to the voter machines?
2.  Do you think that the election will be rigged?
3.  What would you do to ensure that your ballot is not tampered with? (example, request paper ballot, etc.)

Please feel free to answer below in the comments section. And remember, while discussion is encouraged, bullying, Trolls and abuse is NOT. It will be dealt with swiftly.

I look forward to seeing your thoughts!

Just a short note about #Religion.

Listen. Closely.

Religion isn't the problem. Extremism IS.
Practicing your Faith isn't the problem. Forcing it upon others IS.
Believing in a Higher Power isn't the problem. Twisting your Higher Power around to control others IS.
Believing in a book isn't the problem. Picking, choosing and twisting those words in your book to suit your own needs IS.
There is no such thing as a perfect Belief/Religion - Especially when you have to take it out of context to get what you want.
I believe in Live and Let Live.
I choose not to force my beliefs on others, as I RESPECT someone else's RIGHT to believe as they choose to.
But let me warn you; Force your beliefs on me, whether by cramming it down my throat, or taking away my rights, I will FIGHT BACK.
So, as I choose to respect you, please respect me. I'm not perfect, but neither are you.

Sincerely,
An Ordinary Woman

The #Presidential #Debates - A Drunken Essay - And The Winner is....

ME...No, seriously, it's me! Okay, fine, so I wasn't there.

The debate - for all of you who either chose not to watch it or live in some Fairytale Land where Elections never happen - was last night...Romney and Obama. One on One. With a Moderator - who clearly wasn't hired because of his Moderating skills, but what do I know, right?

As I prepared to watch the debate, I had a list of things I needed to do in order to fully enjoy the experience; I needed to lovingly put my small child to bed, open up some alcohol (and since I hadn't had the opportunity to hit a liquor store I was stuck with Wine), open several tabs on Google so I could follow multiple things at once (You know, Facebook, Twitter, the News, and of course, that disturbingly addicting game to while away the time should I have gotten bored.), and tune the TV to the channel of my choice to watch said program.

I also needed to prepare for the "Debates Drinking Game"...And since (as mentioned before) I hadn't gotten to a liquor store, I was stuck doing shots of Red Wine - which, let me tell you, once it's poured in a shot glass, I'm convinced suddenly goes up in alcohol percentage. Shot glasses seem to have that magic about them - heck, you could shoot back a shot of water and somehow manage to feel fuzzy!

Ten minutes into the Debate I was fast becoming fuzzy (My word for just past slightly drunk, lol). I had to stop following the drinking game, lest I somehow manage to get myself into that drunken stupor from which there is no return, and comes with a killer hangover come morning.

Now, being blessed - or cursed - with an eiditic and photographic memory, I do actually remember the entire debate. I also remember the massive Twitter stampede that was going on during the evening...Everyone, Republicans, Democrats and everyone else had already decided the winner of the Debate - not everyone agreed, of course, but I'm sure that's not unusual. By this point, I had given up on giving any kind of responses that would actually sound even minutely coherent, so I just kind of watched the goings on.

I DID rant on Facebook, of course, and I'm pretty sure at some point I nominated my friends Jan and Kimberly to be the next President(s). Let me tell you, those ladies would have the U.S. running smoothly in no time - all while drinking tea liberally laced with Bourbon (Or just chugging straight from the bottle), making delectable desserts, and working a 20-line phone (all at the same time) - I promised that I would be their Campaign Manager - and my fees could be paid in Cookies and Wine.

I also remember at one point being so fuzzy that I was convinced that the "Funny Or Die" Twitter feed about the Election was actually the serious blow-by-blow account of what was going on. Yes, I know, alcohol is NOT always good for you!

As for who actually won the Debate? Even I'm not sure - I think I'm going to have to have a sober look at it all over again.

I started writing this blog article DURING the debates while getting drunk fuzzy. And I promised a friend I would publish it on Facebook, before writing an ACTUAL article about the debates.

I DID have to read and tweak it a bit, lol, to make sure I hadn't written anything slanderous and/or sue-able...

So, since I'm finally back in the swing of writing (Time had to be taken off to care for my little one), expect more posts to come! I will be getting back into the men's series again, but before that I'll be writing an article on the most interesting Tweets from the debate :)

Until next time, Friends, This drunken essay is dedicated to Kimberly :)

The War On Equality...A Man's Point of View - A Multi-Part Series

Hello, Fellow Suffragettes And Suffragents!

Let me introduce you to Part One of my Men's Rights Series!

So. Men's Rights. As I started off on this journey to discover what's out there, and get the information I needed, I have to admit that I was - and this almost never happens - shocked at what little there was out there. Which is interesting..we have so much geared towards women, children, disabilities, LGBTQ, etc., that I just blindly assumed that it would be easy as pie to find what I need. Boy was I wrong.

So let's start with the easiest topic: The Media, as it relates to books, magazines and T.V. shows. For example; I was wandering through a store the other day with my son, browsing through the magazine section. As I looked for the magazine I wanted, I noticed that there were few magazines there that were for men. Sure, there was the "Porn Mag" section, the "Hunting and Fishing" section, and a couple of other ones. Now I have to admit that some of those mags I actually enjoy reading. Not all of them, lol, but you get the point. But here's the REAL point I'm making: There are NO Parenting Magazines geared towards men...there are no real "Man Power" magazines geared for men. And by "Man Power", I mean like women have Cosmo, and Redbook and Vogue. Literally no magazines out there saying to a man to hold his head high and be proud of who he is and be "Fierce". And I think those magazines should be out there. I think it would be AMAZING for a dad - single or otherwise - to be able to go into a store and pick up the latest "The Dad's Parenting Magazine" (Crappy Title, I know, lol, but the best I could come up with on short notice) without having to worry about getting strange looks in line. Or feeling inadequate.

And the "Man Power" magazines...isn't a guy's self-esteem and self-worth just as important as anyone else's? I think so. I think it would be great to see those magazines out there. I'd buy them for my son when he grows up. Hell, I'd buy just about anything that would teach my son that he is an important individual and should be proud of himself.

Next. Books. I know there's some great authors out there who write specifically for men. And a lot of them are great. But let's talk about those other books. Do you know where I'm going with this one? Dare I say the words? I'm going to...prepare yourself. HARLEQUIN ROMANCES. They are, by far, some of the most ridiculous forms of authorship I've ever read. And I'm guilty of reading them. Those books paint men as some hero who swoops in to save the day, all while romancing the pants right off of some woman and providing just enough drama to make it interesting. - which for ANY human being on this planet is next to impossible. And it distorts a woman's view on what a man is. Which, of course, then makes them look disappointedly at their partner, wondering where their steed and coat of arms are. Instead of celebrating the partner they love, they compare them to an impossible dream. Perhaps it's time to make some Harlequin Men books?

What's next? T.V.  Now. This one's a bit more difficult. Because how someone acts on screen can be radically different than how they are in real life. Take the male comic. On one hand, you've got a talented, respected artist who is a great role model for people everywhere, but make one wrong joke and suddenly you're the target of every rights group out there. Now, I don't condone making rape jokes, racist jokes, or anything of that type, but sometimes it seems that there's a rabid group of nay-sayers out there just waiting for the guy to slip up. Even if it's something that was innocuous.

Then there's the sitcom star. Like Charlie Sheen. Picked because he's the most notorious at the moment. Onscreen, he's pure magic. He seems - onscreen - to have it all. Offscreen, he's a huge mess..not as much as a few months ago, but still...and women see that, and suddenly, if you've been a fan of his, you're an asshole. Why? Because, my friends, it only takes one to give the rest a bad name.

I could go on. and on. and on. I won't, as there's so much more to this issue than just what I've written so far. Hence the reason it will be a multiple series.

So, let me close off these musings of mine  - which are really just a way for you all to get comfortable before we really hit the issues - by saying that I'm a "Traditional" Feminist. As in, I'm not a man-hater, not a people-hater. I am a Human Rights Activist and Blogger, and that really does mean that I advocate for everyone.-Although I draw the line at child murderers and Pedophiles (For my own reasons that I won't be sharing in this series.)

To the women who read my blog: The majority of you I already know are Traditional Feminists like me. Who want everyone's voice heard. I appreciate you raising your voices to help everyone be heard. Women's issues are not the only thing that's been going out the window in this past election. We have to make sure that equality happens for everyone. I appreciate your respect and encourage you to continue raising awareness for everyone.

**UPDATED**
The next article will be out on August 1st. (Originally planned for July 29, I'm waiting on some information before I can post this one) And that's when we get into the heavy stuff. Here's some of what we'll get into:
-It only takes one to give the rest a bad name
-workplace and home equality
-medical issues.

The article following that will be exclusively about:
-Parenting, parental rights, the Law.

Please, feel free to comment in the section below. Because, as I constantly tell everyone, in order to educate yourself, you must be properly informed. If you think I've mixed something up on this post, please let me know. If you have something you'd like to add, I would love to read it!

Please be respectful, as I will respect you in kind. Honesty, integrity is appreciated. Trolls and abusers will be dealt with swiftly.

With the Highest of Respect;

An Ordinary Woman

The War On Equality...A Man's Point of View - an Intro to a Multi-Part Series

Hello, Fellow Suffragettes and Suffragents!

I'M BACK!
Hey guys! Okay. I am now back in good form, my little one is feeling better, and I've actually got time to do some blogging!

I got great responses for my previous post about what I should write about next, but as I was trying to decide what I should write about next, I ended up with the perfect idea purely by accident...I had been on Twitter, and had copied some article to a fellow Tweeter. I ended up getting a response from a Men's Rights Twitter account. I ended up tweeting back and forth with them and they reminded me that in the middle of all this fighting for rights, we've concentrated on Women's Rights, Children's Rights, LGBTQ Rights, Health Rights, and on and on and on, but I really hadn't seen much in the news about Men's Rights. And that info should be out there just as much as all the other Rights, because at the end of the day, what we are all fighting for is HUMAN RIGHTS. On another blog site I previously ran, I had blogged about this before. So I definitely think it's time again.

This is my introduction to my multi-part series on this. I would LOVE feedback, especially as I start posting the actual notes. Please PLEASE know you are most welcome to comment in the section provided below, or, you can send me a Tweet at Krystinaj1 .

I've started the research. I was directed to a great site - which I'll mention as we get along in the series...I feel I should ask the moderators there if it's okay to post a link..Respect is necessary, for sure :)

I've been fortunate to come across some very nice people who are willing to take time out of their days to answer my questions...and correct me when I get something wrong. And with their permission, I will be sharing what they've told me throughout this series as well.

During this mission for information, I also encountered a lot of anger...cynicism..skepticism..even weariness..And as much as I don't know their individual stories, I do get it. In the fight for HUMAN RIGHTS, Men have been overlooked. Well, let's change that, shall we?

Obviously I realize that this blog will not change the world...but maybe someone will read it...and get the information they were looking for and realize that they are not alone, there is support out there, and it does get better.

Please know that I will never post anything without the person's permission, and if needed, a pseudonym can be used to protect identity. Pictures of my contributors are NEVER used. Even with permission...unless it's extremely important that the pic be used.

So, this is the topic I'll be concentrating on throughout the Summer...with some other Politics mixed in between.

Again, I would LOVE to hear from everyone about this! Please let me know your story, or if you have links to articles you feel would be important for me to include. I look forward to your comments!

*Please remember to be respectful...Information is necessary, but Trolls and Abusers will be dealt with Swiftly.

With the Utmost Respect,

An Ordinary Woman

Long Time No See...

Hello Fellow Suffragettes and Suffragents!

I owe you an apology. I have not blogged in a few weeks. So many reasons why, all valid, I swear. My little one has been going through some health issues that needed my attention. On top of that, I've been battling the worst flu I have ever experienced..I'm on week 3 of antibiotics and feeling like I've been run over by a monster truck!

So, I will have a new post out by this Weekend. The problem is, what should the post be about? There's been so much going on, it's hard to choose..so perhaps I should leave it up to you. Which topic should I discuss next? The Wisconsin Recall, The multiple "Men of God" calling for the death of Gays, more on the War on Women or The latest on Romney, the Birthers and how they're all linked?

Let me know!

Deadline is Tomorrow evening, so I can do my outline and then write it up!

To "Spiritual Leaders" of the United States and the "Religious Right": PART TWO

You know, I was hoping to save part two of my open letter for later on in the summer, but after the garbage that's been in the news, lately, I guess I'll be making more than two parts to this open letter. You know, I'm getting pretty tired of having to keep writing these kind of posts on my blog, but since you haven't opened your ears/eyes yet, let me help you once again.

You want to know something? The majority of the LGBT community will have a better chance of getting into heaven than you and the rest of your bigoted, fear-mongering, genocide-calling friends. Want to know why? Because the LGBT community is fighting for the RIGHT THING. They're fighting for the right to have a consentual, loving relationship with the person they choose to be with, regardless of gender. They're fighting for the right to be happy, safe and healthy. They're fighting to stop the bullying-caused deaths that have been happening on a regular basis. They're fighting against HATE and the fear of death.

To sum it up so that maybe, just maybe you'll get it? They're fighting for EXACTLY what YOUR GOD wanted people to fight for.

You know why you don't stand a chance of entering the gates of Heaven? Because you promote everything that YOUR GOD was against. You fight for the right to tax the poor. You fight for the right to bully others. You fight for the right to force your religion on others without their consent. You fight for the right to harm women and children. YOU fight for the right to advocate the murder of innocent people in the LGBT community just because you don't understand, nor will you ever, what that community is all about. You fight for the right to withhold proper medical care from anyone who does not believe the same as you, for example, contraception. You fight for the right to make poor families suffer without proper medical care or access to government services that might help them get on their feet and do something with their lives. You fight for the right to teach children LIES. You fight for the right to force children to be ignorant about important facts.

And the minute you do any of the above, you become a Fascist. Every time you say that Gays (or anyone) should be put to death, you become JUST. LIKE. HITLER. Yeah, I said it. And I mean it.

You know what you'll never understand about the Bible? (Other than it was written by a MAN) You'll never understand the most important passage in the entire book: "For God so loved the World, that he gave his only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in him shall have eternal life" . Jesus promoted love, not hate. Forgiveness, not anger. Honesty instead of lying. And for crying out loud, please PLEASE go back and read that book. Read it like you're viewing it from a bullied teenager's eyes. Read it like you've just found out that it's just a story book. Read it and realize that half of what the Apostles taught after Christ died were things that Jesus didn't even mention. You think He and God would be advocating for the death of one of their own? If you do think that, I guess I'll be seeing you in Hell.

You need to understand that it's not necessary for everyone to believe as you do. There's nothing wrong with sharing your Religion, but you need to STOP forcing your beliefs on others. THAT is morally wrong. THAT is called RELIGIOUS TERRORISM. Don't believe me? Google Religious Terrorism and read the official definition.

And by no means am I done. I'll fight until you get it. So will the rest of us. And ultimately, it won't be us losing; It will be you.

An Open Letter to the "Spiritual Leaders" of the United States and the "Religious Right" PART ONE

Hello. Let me introduce myself. My name is Krystina. I'm a Minister's daughter and Granddaughter. I'm also a single mother, and I'm gay.

Now, I'm sure some of you just rolled your eyes, said to yourself "Oh great, another sinner who just wants to get her two cents in" and moved on, but for the rest of you, I hope you'll read on. This open letter isn't necessarily to scream at you for imposing your beliefs on others. Consider this to just be a letter to you. I won't be going on about Leviticus, or any of those other verses that are so widely misused.

First off, I'd actually like to thank you. Why? Because I've never had so many people concerned about my soul. So thank you. But you needn't worry. You see, my soul and I, we're doing okay. I'm at peace with myself and with my God. Why? I'll tell you, but please be patient, as this might take a little bit of explaining.

There was a point in my life where I hated all things religious. Not because of what my father taught as a Minister. I hated it because other religions/religious leaders had taught me that if I were to be myself, I would be angering God, and angering my peers. And it made for a very ugly time in my life. Finally, I had enough of living with anger and hate, and I went to go see a Minister friend of mine. I told him exactly what had gone on in my life, about knowing since I was very small that I was Gay, and how watching others be persecuted for that made me feel like I was worthless and irrelevant. He counseled me through it, and shared with me something so interesting and relevant, that I was surprised I hadn't seen it before. But when you've got angry blinders on, it's hard to see anything else. He taught me the following:

Every day that I fear living my life truthfully, I break the Ten Commandments. Every time I hate, I break the Ten Commandments. I break Christ's teaching. How? Because Fear begets anger, and anger begets hate and hate begets sin. By lying about who I am, I dishonor my father and mother. I don't honor the Lord, my God. I was committing murder. Of my own soul. I was stealing my own life. And I envied everyone who was straight and "True".  And by lying to myself, I was not honoring Christ, as he abhorred lying. With just that tiny bit, I was committing my soul to hell.

You see, God doesn't hate Gay people. I'm pretty sure he's got other things to worry about that are much more important than someone just trying to live their lives honestly.

But, I think the most important lesson I learned from my Minister friend and from my father, was this:

Treat the Bible like it's a story about being a parent. You make this wonderful, amazing creation, and you resolve to be the best parent you can be. As you proudly watch your pride and joy grow, they suddenly become a toddler. And what do toddlers like to do? They like to stretch their boundaries..touch things they're not supposed to. I think of Adam and Eve like that, in a way. And when your toddler does something they know they're not supposed to, what's a parent to do? They discipline. Although I really don't recommend disciplining your actual child like the old testament, with fire and brimstone, unless getting up in the middle of the night to tend to nightmares is your thing.

The Old Testament is a lot like disciplining a rebellious a child that grows from toddler to teenager. Threats are made, rules are enforced, and you impose your will upon them to try and keep them on the straight and narrow. If you read towards the end of the Old Testament and into the beginning of the New Testament, you might see that now that God is no longer a "first time parent", he's realized that maybe the fire and brimstone approach isn't really working..It hasn't solved anything, it's just made some of his "children" more rebellious, or the opposite, zealous in adhering to his anger. And so he decides that maybe it's time to try something new. Love and acceptance, negotiating and listening instead of obedience and a force of will.

So, in the New Testament, to show that he's mellowed with age and really does love us, he sends his "only son" Jesus. And he tells us that Jesus will make a difference and show to us what God is really all about. And he tells us that Jesus will sacrifice himself so that we will become "clean again". A blank slate, so to speak. Jesus talks about what really pisses God off, and what really makes him happy. Like when you're negotiating with a strong-willed teenager or young adult that's about to spread their wings and learn what life's really all about. You desperately want to make sure they're prepared, and you realize that maybe they do get it more than you thought, especially when you treated them with respect and love, instead of harsh punishments and anger.

I think God's approach in the New Testament was so much more effective than the Old Testament, and I believe that he did this to counter his "early years".  Like my own father did as I was growing up. He started with the warnings and restrictions, etc., as I began to rebel. But as I grew older, he realized that being a "parental bully" really didn't help things. So he switched tactics. He encouraged me to find out who I am, to question everything and form my own beliefs, asked me to respect others and remain true to myself.

As further proof to that in regards to my own life, my parents knew I was unhappy, but they didn't know why. And when I finally got the courage to come out the them, instead of rebuking me or distancing themselves from me, they celebrated with me. My father told me later, that during my darker times, he used to pray that I would find whatever it was that would make me actually like myself, view myself as an asset, rather than a bane to society. And when he saw how at peace with myself because of finally being able to have the confidence to be me, he was relieved. Both my parents have told and shown me that they will love me NO MATTER WHAT. And, because I love my family, I must remain true to who I am, who I was born to be. To honor my mother and my father.

I still read the Bible. It's helped me through some tough times. And I believe in God. But when I read the Bible, I remember that it was written by Man. Through stories told from generation to generation. And if you read it properly, you'd note that the only places in the Bible that Jesus Christ actually is noted as speaking is Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. And the further you get into the Bible past that, if you read it with not only an open mind, but an open heart, you realize that the apostles actually started to preach things that had never even come out of Jesus' mouth. Makes you wonder just who's agenda was really being pushed. It's the same in the Old Testament. Other than a handful of times after the Garden of Eden, God rarely speaks. It's the men in the story doing all the talking. I'm not bashing the Bible, even though I'm sure it seems that way to some. I just want you to know my point of view. Because my point of view is just as relevant as yours.

You know the most interesting quote from Jesus? It was when he spoke about worship. He spoke about how God hated it when people made a big deal out of worship. Like they wanted everyone to see just how pious they were. Jesus said that God loved it when someone worshipped him without anyone around to worship it, as that was when the heart was the most pure, there was no real agenda. Just communication. That's how I build my spirituality. That's my religion. I talk to God in my living room. I worship him whenever I go for a walk with my little one and point out how beautiful this planet is. I honor my God by teaching my child to love others, to accept and tolerate, and to be grateful.

I'm going to close this part of my letter to you with the following questions. When you go to Church, do you feel filled up with the love, power and glory of God? Or your own self-importance? Do you go to Church to feel closer to God? Or to be seen by those you deem important? Ask yourselves these questions. And think hard before you answer. And be honest. Because Lying is a sin.

So again, thank you. But my soul and I? We're just fine.

With Regards,

An Ordinary Woman

Gratitude

Hello, Fellow Suffragettes and Suffragents;

This week has been a week of celebration. On May 9, 2012, the President of the United States came out in support of same-sex marriage. Not literally, of course, but the video above is of him endorsing it.

Some have breathed a huge sigh of relief, because they feel a little less persecuted. As they should. The President endorsing same-sex marriage is a HUGE victory for the LGBT community.

Others have worried even more.."What will this do to his campaign?" What if he loses the election over this?" "What if the Bigots and Extremists try to do something about this?" What if. What if. What if. Let me tell you. These concerns are legitimate, but if you think about it, this should be an empowering moment.

You see, up until May 9, 2012, we have never had a President publicly announce that he was in favor of same-sex marriage. Sure, we had some politicians quietly promising us that they would endorse us once the reached the Oval Office, but this is the first time I've ever seen that happen.

Now, of course some activists are a little critical about Obama's timing with this announcement...Some think the timing is questionable, but let me present you with the following:

When VP Joe Biden went out and said he supported Gay rights, etc., he actually pushed the President's hand. From what I've read/learned from sources, the President took the time to do some soul searching about such a volatile subject. He asked people he respected for their opinions, he weighed them against what he believes in, and made the choice to show his support. If anything, this proves that the U.S. FINALLY has an open-minded President. I believe that he did not endorse same-sex marriage before this, because he didn't want to make it a campaign issue. A mistake on his part, sure, but with all the craziness and hype of this particular campaign, and with so many issues to wade through, this was not at the top of his list. Rightly so. The economy, for one, is pretty important. And he's had some extremely unstable Presidential Candidates to fight against. I believe Obama would have endorsed either way, but wanted to wait until closer to November, or after he had won. But, since he wasn't able to wait until then, I personally think he chose a near-perfect time to "come out". Biden had already made his opinion heard, and then the vote in North Carolina for Amendment One happened. And the timing of Obama's endorsement was perfect after that whole circus of bigotry.

I've been gauging the reaction on FB, Twitter, other social media sites and, of course, the news. It's pretty much split, when it comes to opinion in the LGBT world, as well as the activist world. Some think this will help his campaign, others worry that he will lose crucial votes. I think this will do nothing but help his campaign. By showing that he's really paying attention to what his voters worry about, he's showing that he's open to "evolving" and willing to stick his neck out to help in any way he can, even if it just means saying the words.

And, of course you've got the Right Wing Extremists, the Homophobes, the Zealots and the Bigots weighing in, spewing their hate and fear-mongering. I'm not even going to bother posting links for this, as most of us have seen them. (Plus I'm saving them for a different blog post). All I can say is, that by crawling out of the woodwork to condemn President Obama for doing this, they are yet again showing just why they are dangerous, hypocritical and small-minded.

So, in closing, to President Barack Obama, THANK YOU. Thank you for evolving. Thank you for being open minded. Thank you for wading into an already messy situation. I admire you for that, as it shows that you're not just concerned about the campaign, you're concerned about your citizens and their well-being. This proves to me that you are the ONE person in this circus of a campaign who gets it. And I will endorse you back. And now that you've proven that you've got a brain, and you're not afraid to use it, I hope you'll look at all the other issues and prove to us that you're willing to do what it takes in the war on equality.

And to all my LGBT friends, crack open the bubbly, drink a glass for me. This is a victory for us. Let us take this endorsement and run with it, and learn from it.

Please feel free to comment. Because to be truly informed, you MUST have information! Debate is welcome, but trolls, abuse and threats will be dealt with swiftly.

My friends, as usual, I am grateful. Thank you for enlightening me.

Romney, Obama and Paul; Cleaning Out The Closets Part 3 of 4

Hello my friends,

And welcome to Part Three of my Cleaning Out the Closets of the Presidential Candidates series. Today's subject will be Ron Paul. You don't hear much about Ron Paul, with all the Brouhaha in the media about Mitt Romney, so I consider Ron Paul to be a wild card. I'm not a fan of his. Why? I'll tell you after we sum up his bio. But, regardless of my feelings towards him, I will do my best to remain unbiased and ethical.

So. On to Ron Paul. First, here are your links:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ron_Paul
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electoral_history_of_Ron_Paul
http://www.biography.com/people/ron-paul-265881

http://slog.thestranger.com/slog/archives/2011/12/28/let-the-ron-paul-conspiracy-theories-begin

Let's begin, shall we? Ronald Ernest Paul was born August 20, 1935, to Harold and Margaret Paul. There's no real information on Ron Paul's parents that I could find. If you know of any links, please share them. One website I found states that he was born to "Warrior Parent"..not quite sure what to make of that. Apparently from childhood on, his father prepared him physically for battle. His mother taught him everything she could to ensure he would attain a high standing in the future. He eventually almost became like a nemesis to the Rhodes Scholars. He graduated from Gettysburg College with a Bachelor degree in Science. He then continued on to Duke University and earned his M.D. He met his wife Carol, and they later married.

Ron Paul worked as a medical officer in the 1960's, as well as being a OB/GYN. Ron Paul is also a published Author, writing such novels as: The Case for Gold,  Liberty Defined: 50 Essential Issues That Affect Our FreedomEnd The FedThe Revolution: A ManifestoPillars of Prosperity, and A Foreign Policy of Freedom: Peace, Commerce, and Honest Friendship

Some people refer to Ron Paul as the "Godfather" of the Tea Party. But, technically, he is a  Paleolibertarian. He supports limited Government,  low taxes, free markets, strict adherence to the Constitution, and a return to monetary policies based on commodity-backed currency. ( I have borrowed heavily from http://www.conservapedia.com/Ron_Paul#Early_life_and_education for this paragraph)

Okay. Now, before we get into the skeleton closet, here is why I'm not a fan. If you read the last couple of  links, you'll notice that they're about conspiracy theories...I'm not a fan of conspiracy theories, as that's ALL they will ever be..theories. Until someone shows up with some cold hard facts, I don't buy into it. BUT. This makes him a wild card. Because, as we all know, there are A LOT of conspiracy theorists out there who would love to have one of their own in power. I'm sure they think he'll blow the lid off of all the Government secrets.

Some more reasons I do not like Ron Paul? He's Racist. He's a Bigot. He's Anti-Choice, he is Anti-gay, and he's Anti-Woman. He also views Social Security as Unconstitutional. In the 80's and 90's he tried to abolish Public Schools. He's against low-income children getting health insurance from the Government. He's against anyone, basically, who isn't a millionaire. He suggests that people who are harassed at their workplace just simply quit their jobs. And the one that pisses me off the most? He voted AGAINST legislation to catch online predators and pedophiles. Here is one of the links for that information:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_positions_of_Ron_Paul

I know, I'm failing miserably at staying unbiased, but in my own personal opinion, this man is just as dangerous, if not more dangerous (due to his obvious instability) than Mitt Romney.

At this rate, do you think there's anything in his Skeleton Closet? Let's take a look:
http://hillbuzz.org/the-skeletons-in-ron-pauls-closet-78991
http://www.realchange.org/ronpaul.htm
http://iowntheworld.com/blog/?p=109991
http://marie-everydaymiracle.blogspot.ca/2011/12/ron-pauls-racist-and-homophobic-closet.html
http://gratewire.com/topic/ron-pauls-skeleton-closet

Okay. When I ran a search for Ron Paul's Skeletons, I got MORE hits than I did for Mitt Romney...that's saying a lot!

Let's go through the most relevant ones.

1985: Ron Paul starts a newsletter that's clearly Racist. You can see some of the quotes throughout the links I've attached. And, of course, in 2001, he tried to deny that he had anything to do with it, blaming everything on a Ghostwriter. - But wait...wouldn't it have had to been approved through you, Ron Paul? Hmmmm...Meanwhile he's been quoting racist views all over the place, appearing on Alex Jones' radio show and spewing hate, and giving interviews to the John Birch Society.

There's no real proof that he's done anything "terrible" in his personal life, and he doesn't seem to have his hand in anyone else's pockets or vice-versa.

As for his conspiracy theories, he seems reluctant to own up to that part of himself, much like he enjoys denying his bigotry. But he continues to associate with Alex Jones, The 9/11 Truthers, and the John Birch Society.

I sincerely hope he's a wild card that gets played and discarded soon, but I do think it's time to keep a closer eye one him. He's been awfully attractive to the younger crowds due to some of his views, as well as to the conspiracy theory crowd.

And that, my friends, is Ron Paul. And I apologize for not being able to remain unbiased with this one. I promise to try harder in the future.

Stay tuned for part Four, which will be out this week.

Please feel free to comment, as to be informed, you MUST have the FACTS. Debate is welcome, but trolls, abuse and violence will be dealt with swiftly.

And to my readers, as usual, thank you. You continue to educate me and support this blog, and I am grateful.

Romney, Obama and Paul..Cleaning out the Closets Part 2 of 4

Hello again, my friends; welcome to Part 2 of my Cleaning Out the Closets of the Presidential Candidates!

Before I start, let me mention that I heard from several people that I hadn't really included anything new about Mitt Romney in the first part of this series. Let me reassure you: I fully intend to, however, you're going to have to wait until part four to see the new items I have discovered. The first three parts of this series is basically just a basic synopsis of all the information out there on the candidates.

So, with that being said, let us continue: Part Two: Barack Obama.

First, the links:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ann_Dunham
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama,_Sr.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lolo_Soetoro
http://www.whitehouse.gov/administration/president-obama
http://www.biography.com/people/barack-obama-12782369

Let's start at the beginning: Barack Hussein Obama II was born August 4, 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii. His parents were Barack Obama Sr and Stanley Ann Dunham. (To prevent any confusion, Barack Obama Sr will be referred to as Senior, and Barack Obama II will be referred to as Obama). Senior was a senior governmental economist in Kenya. He was born Muslim and Christian, but became an Atheist as a young man. In 1959, Senior went to Hawaii and became the first African (foreign) student at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. It was here that he met Stanley Ann Dunham. Shortly after, she became pregnant. Senior married her in Hawaii, after assuring her that he was divorced. It was revealed later that this was not the truth. Obama was born at  the Kapiolani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital. His birth was announced in The Honolulu Advertiser and the Honolulu Star-Bulletin (as per wikipedia). By 1965, he was divorced from Ann and had returned to Kenya. The only time he chose to see Obama was for one month when he was 10 years old. By 1969, Senior had been blacklisted in Kenya, survived two accidents and had become an alcoholic. In 1982, he died in his third automobile accident.

Obama's mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, was an anthropologist, specializing in Economical Anthropology and Rural Development. At one time, she also worked as a consultant for the United States Agency for International Development. She was 18 when she gave birth to Obama. After divorcing Senior, she met Lolo Soetoro, a surveyor who had come to Hawaii on a grant to study geography. They married, and after graduating, She moved herself and Obama to Indonesia to be with Soetoro. During their time in Indonesia, Ann ensured Obama`s education did not suffer. He continued to have correspondence schooling, and listened to Mahalia Jackson and Martin Luther King jr. Eventually, though, she chose to send Obama back to Hawaii, and enrolled him in Punahou School. She joined Obama eventually, and divorced Soetoro by the end of 1980. In 1994, Ann died from Uterine Cancer. Obama spoke about her death a few times, most notable in 2007:

"I remember my mother. She was 52 years old when she died of ovarian cancer, and you know what she was thinking about in the last months of her life? She wasn’t thinking about getting well. She wasn't thinking about coming to terms with her own mortality. She had been diagnosed just as she was transitioning between jobs. And she wasn’t sure whether insurance was going to cover the medical expenses because they might consider this a preexisting condition. I remember just being heartbroken, seeing her struggle through the paperwork and the medical bills and the insurance forms. So, I have seen what it's like when somebody you love is suffering because of a broken health care system. And it's wrong. It's not who we are as a people."
(souce: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ann_Dunham).

Obama cites that his mother was the most influential people in his life, as she taught him to question everything. From Religion to Politics.

Next. Obama is a graduate of Columbia and Harvard. He was the president of the Harvard Law Review, and earned his law degree. From 1992 to 2004, he worked in civil rights law, and taught at the University of Chicago about Constitutional Law. From 1997 to 2004, he also served three terms in the Illinois Senate. In 2004, he ran for the U.S. Senate. And won. With the support of his family, he decided to run for President. In the 2008 primaries, he beat Hillary Clinton and won the nomination. And in November, 2008, he beat McCain and became the 44th President of the United States.

Upon becoming President, Obama soon realized just what he had inherited: A large debt, unfair laws, and people more than ready to condemn him on every move he made. But, in his Presidency, he has done the following (and much more):  the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Act of 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act Don't Ask, Don't Tell Repeal Act of 2010Budget Control Act of 2011, and he ended the war in Iraq, increased the troops in Afghanistan, signed the New START A.C. treaty with Russia, became involved in the 2011 Libya military intervention, rid the world of Osama bin Laden. And that's just a few.

Oh? You'd like a couple more? Why of course! Here you go:

As per Wikipedia, he has also done the following: He made the order to shut down Guatanamo Bay, giving them until January 2010 to close the doors. That didn't happen the way he wanted it to, because Congress would not release or approve the funding that would be necessary to carry that act out. Obama also reduced the secrecy of the Presidential Files, and changed procedures for the Freedom of Information Act, to make access and disclosure easier. He reversed George Bush's ban on federal funding to foreign establishments that allow abortions. He also signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), and the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act

There are a lot more, but I'm running out of room. So, on to the next part. In 1989, Obama met Michelle Robinson. They were married in 1992, and proceeded to have two daughters.

Currently, Obama is campaigning for a second term as President of the United States.

Are there Skeletons in his Closet? Well, everyone has some, so let's see what we can find. Here are the links:
http://www.realchange.org/obama.htm
http://crackercoast.com/crackerchat/showthread.php/16340-And-to-be-fair-Obama-s-Skeleton-Closet

(And YES, again, I'm holding all the real juicy bits for part four!)

The biggest skeletons that these two links show, are that Obama used and documented his use of cocaine, the Solyndra Solar Scandal, Tony Rezko, Bill Ayers, and the fact that his father had been born a Muslim (even though Obama was NOT raised Muslim),

These skeletons are well-documented and public, but still skeletons in the closet.

And that, my friends, is Barack Obama. Next up in Part Three is Ron Paul. Stay tuned.

And once again, you teach me, you inspire me, I am forever grateful for everyone who reads this blog, and for the people who supply me with information.

Please feel free to comment, as to be informed, you must have the information! Debate is welcome, however, trolls, abuse and violence will be dealt with swiftly.

With Regards and Respect,

An Ordinary Woman.

Romney, Obama and Paul..Cleaning out the Closets Part 1 of 4

Hello my friends!

Today's post will actually be a four part series on the Presidential Candidates (Barack Obama, Mitt Romney, and just for fun, let's throw in Ron Paul). I will be posting about when they first came on the Political Scene, what they were doing previously, what their campaign does or does not endorse, and, my favorite, the skeletons in the closet. Most of what I'm going to write about is out there to read, I'm just amalgamating everything so you don't have to hunt down the articles.I do so love to make things easier for my readers!

Should I tease you and leave Mitt Romney for last? No, I wouldn't do that to you. So, today's posting will be all about Mitt Romney. Here's a couple of links to get us started:

So, let's start at the beginning: Willard Mitt Romney was born on March 12, 1947 to George and Lenore Romney. George Romney was the president of American Motors, Governor of Michigan and a Republican Presidential Candidate. Surprisingly, his mother, Lenore, was an advocate of women being more involved in business and politics. In 1970, she was actually asked to run in politics. She didn't win, largely because she found it difficult to separate herself and her reputation from her husband. I actually find Romney's mother's history to be fascinating. As a young woman, she fell in love with acting, performing mostly Shakespeare - against George Romney's being against it. She eventually left acting, claiming at the time that it was because she found Hollywood life to be disturbing; later, she admitted that she quit because she would have possibly upstaged her husband, and he couldn't stand that. Yet another example of someone who allowed themselves to be controlled. BUT, underneath the control, there was a feminist. She was a vocal supporter of women, and was known to support rebellion, as long as the rebellion was for a good cause. She was anti-war, protesting the Vietnam War. For years, she was ambivalent about Pro-life, but in the 1970's changed her mind and asserted that she was, indeed pro-life.

George Romney, Mitt's father, as far as I've been able to find out, attended several different Colleges, but never officially graduated from any of them. He grew up in Mexico, but his family fled Mexico during the Mexican Revolution. Once in the U.S., he and his family were poor; accepting Government relief. Eventually, they settled in Utah, where George started working at the age of 11 in the fields. They struggled through the Great Depression. In 1926, he traveled to Britain and Scotland as a Mormon Missionary. After he married Lenore, he moved to Washington, and became involved as a Lobbyist. George was obsessed with his Religion, sharing that his religion was more important to him than anything else in the world. He passed that along to his children.

Ironically enough, when George Romney campaigned to be President, the validity of his campaign was questioned, due to his birth in Mexico. It was claimed that he was ineligible, as he wasn't a "natural born citizen". Romney withdrew before the matter was resolved, leading people to believe that the claim was true.

After Nixon became President, Romney was named Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. Nixon had a strong dislike of George, and apparently only gave him the position to appease the Republicans and make it harder for him to challenge for the 1972 Republican President Nomination. Eventually, Nixon tried to force George to resign. He finally resigned after Nixon was placed back in Office.

On to Mitt. Mitt was born in Detroit, Michigan. He is a fifth-generation Mormon. Until 7th grade, he attended public schools, then went on to attend Cranbrook School, a privileged preparatory school, where he was bullied for being the only Mormon on campus. At the age of 17, Mitt interned for his father in the Governor's Office.

Mitt attended Stanford University for one year, where he remained traditional, even with the era being "Radical". He even counter-protested a sit-in while at the school.

In 1966, he left to go do Missionary work in France, where he was met with hostility. During his time there, he was involved in an accident that claimed the life of The Mission President's wife.

Upon returning to the U.S., Mitt married Ann. He went back to school, stating that he wanted to pursue business, but his father convinced him to get his law degree. He first went to work for the Boston Consulting Group, and in 1977, went to work for Bain & Co. Bain & Co. is the subject of controversy, due to their business practices, and tendencies for people to lose their jobs at the companies bought and leveraged through them. As a result of his career with Bain, Mitt's net worth was estimated at between $190 and $250 million dollars.

In 1993, Mitt Romney switched from being an Independent to being Republican, and chose to run against Ted Kennedy. Romney's campaign had trouble with consistency, as well as with Mitt's tendencies to change his views of everything, from abortion, to what had happened with Ampad. Needless to say, Mitt lost the election.

In 2002, the Republicans weren't happy with the acting Governor, Jane Swift. They asked Romney to run for the Governor position. Democratic Officials contested Mitt's eligibility to run for Massachussetts' Governor, due to his living in Utah. Eventually, it was ruled that he WAS, in fact, eligible. Mitt supported raising fees, cutting spending, closing tax loopholes, and in 2006, he signed the Massachussetts Health Reform Law, which penalized anyone who did not have health insurance coverage.

Mitt Romney was a vocal opponent against same-sex marriage, but reluctantly endorsed civil unions, seeing it as a way to keep gays from being "married". BUT, in 2005, along with the Coalition for Marriage and Family, he endorsed a petition for banning same-sex marriage and civil unions.

Also, in 2005, Mitt changed his position on Abortion, going from pro-choice, which he claimed in 2002, to being pro-life. He opposed Roe vs. Wade. He even tried to veto a bill that would provide women with emergency contraception in hospitals and pharmacies.

His presidential bid in 2008 was a disaster. Due to his changing positions on issues, Mitt was nicknamed the "Flip Flopper". Needless to say, he didn't win.

I won't even bother getting into his 2012 campaign, as that's been publicised enough, I think. Now, onward, the dirt on Mitt Romney. Here are your links:

Now, some of his skeletons are obviously out of the closet. (Excuse the pun, hehe). Such tidbits like Seamus, the Roof Riding Dog, so I won't get into those ones.

It's also a well-known fact that Romney's a notorious liar. One of his bigger lies was that he and his father marched with Martin Luther King jr. That couldn't have been further from the truth.

Another one of his bigger lies was the following: ""When [during their debate] Kennedy called him 'multiple choice,' Romney demanded an extra rebuttal. He revealed that a close relative died of an illegal abortion years ago and said, 'Since that time, my mother and my family have been committed to the belief that we can believe as we want, but we will not force our beliefs on others on that matter, and you will not see my wavering on that.' "
- Boston Globe, 3/2/2006"

I hesitate to use the word "fraud", as that can be inflammatory and libelous..however, research has proved that Mitt Romney has at least been "associated" with fraud. Through Bain & Co., and Medicare.

There is a lot in Mitt's closet, if you read the above links. More than I have time to write about today. But I'll close with the one thing that disturbs me the most about Mitt Romney: He'll say ANYTHING, do ANYTHING, regardless of who gets hurt, to get what he wants. He's changed his position on issues to connect with whatever he's supporting or endorsing at that particular moment, and I doubt he'll ever stop.

So, my friends, that is Mitt Romney. Next up will be Barack Obama. Stay tuned.

And, as usual, thank you, you educate me, you give me the courage to blog and advocate for truth, fairness and equality.

Please feel free to comment, as to be informed, you must have information. As usual, debate is welcome, however, trolls, abusers and violence will be dealt with swiftly.

With the highest of Regards,

An Ordinary Woman
